Benus Letalis Ericius Loot Rules
How the List Works
Most loot drops are awarded based on the loot list. This includes almost all bind on pickup boss drops, as well as bind on equip random blue and purple drops. When such an item drops, one person will ask for tells from those who are interested in said item. Of those who send a tell, the person highest on the list is awarded the item. That person then drops to the bottom of the list; everyone else who is below that person on the list and who is present moves up a spot. People who are not present at the time the item dropped do not move.
When more than one loot item drops from one monster, we will handle them in reverse order that they are listed. For example, if Emli announces "Loot on Mob_XX: Purple_1, Blue_1, Blue_2", we'll assign and evaluate Blue_2 first, and move the winner on the list, and then Blue_1, and finally Purple_1. We may take tells on all 3 to speed up the process, but if we think there is some overlap, we may hold off on tells until some items are handled.
If no one bids for an item, the item is either disenchanted or guild funded. The guild fund is used to purchase potions, repair bots, enchants, and other supplies needed for raiding.
New people are added to the bottom of the list.
Special Cases
There are a few special cases handled differently than above:
-
Legendary items are not decided by position on the list. They will be decided by a loot council of officers who will try to determine who would best use the legendary item. Whoever receives the legendary item will drop to the bottom of the list after all other loot for that boss has been determined.
- Tradeable quest items (coins and bijous in Zul'Gurub, scarabs and
idols in Ahn'Qiraj) are exempt from the above system. They are all
master looted and generally placed into a guild vault. When you have
the necessary faction and the bind on pickup drop (see below) for a
quest, see Emli and she will give you the other pieces you need from
the guild vault. In some cases after a zone has been on farm status,
items may be equally distributed to players at the end of each raid.
- Bind on pickup quest items (Primal Hakkari items in Zul'Gurub,
Qiraji items in Ahn'Qiraj) and spell books (such as AQ20 spellbooks
and Tranquilizing Shot), and most tradeskill patterns are handled in a two step process. Initially,
we will ask for tells from people who wish to bid on the item and use
their list position to claim it. If there are takers, the quest item
is awarded as described above. If no one sends a tell, a second
request for tells from people who would like to random on the item is
made. All those who send a tell will /random 100 and the highest roll
gets the quest item, but they will not move on the list. If you
are in last place on the list, or have just been added to the list,
you must wait for the random roll, you cannot bid on quest items.
- For quest items which require faction, priority will be given to those who already have the required faction. If no one has the required faction, then all raiders will be able to bid, regardless of their current faction.
-
In some cases, rare tradeskill patterns may not be decided by position on the list. They will be decided by a loot council of officers who will try to determine who would best use the tradeskill pattern. Whoever receives the tradeskill pattern will drop to the bottom of the list at the normal position of where it dropped. The person on the raid will agree to combine, for free and without expectation of a tip, the item, for any person who is on the raid regardless of whether that raid member plans to use it, sell it, or transfer it to an alt.
- Some items are class preferred, such as Zul'Gurub ring sets and some weapons. This means someone in the preferred class will receive the item ahead of someone not in the preferred class even with a lower ranking. If you have any questions about this, ask Emli, Durgo, or Kaboom to find out if any specific item has a class preference.
- In some cases when an item with resists is to be disenchanted, the loot council may instead to award the item to a person for no movement on the list. This decision will be made by the council taking into considerations factors as:
- whether the player already has an otherwise better item
- what role the character has (ie a tank will need more resists than a mage usually)
- how short we are on the shard/crystal that would be created
- how often that character is played at raids
- Random green item drops are immediately guild funded for either disenchanting or auction house. If you see one drop that is an upgrade for you, please send a tell to Emli or another officer. We'll make sure you get the item and it will not count against your list position. This does not apply to other characters (only the character on the raid).
Any situations not covered by these instructions will be discussed by officers of the guilds involved in the raid.
Inactive Characters
Idle characters may be removed from the list after 3 months of
inactivity. If you come back after a longer absence, you may be
restored to your previous place or you may have to start over. This
decision is based on the sole discretion of the guild officers.
Other Notes and Guidelines
- To make the best use out of this system, it's a good idea to know which items you'd like in advance. For the most part, you can let this system work in the background and just bid on the items you know you want when they drop.
- Occassionally crafted items will be created from materials dropped at
raid. These are assigned by the loot council and will be posted on a
thread in the raid forum and available for comments. If you wish to
have a crafted item made from raid materials, please also post on that
thread.
